lessons I picked from the movie "Love in Every Word"by Omoni Oboli

Aside from my crazy interest in rom-coms, this movie actually had me giggling like a teenager who had just seen her crush. The display of love by the male lead, Chief Obiora, who loved to be referred to as Odogwu, was what drew most ladies, I would say.

Even as I dreamt of a love like that, I didn't overlook some key details or rather, lessons I learned from the movie.

One of which is the subtle display of femininity by the female lead, Chioma. She carried herself like she owned the whole world, and don’t get it all wrong, this isn't about pride but rather confidence. One would point out that Odogwu was also drawn to her soft-spokenness.

Another notable thing I picked from the movie was the female lead’s very obvious attribute, which was hard work. She was a woman who fended for herself and refused to conform to society’s stereotype of women being dependent on men.

I wouldn't end this without pointing out one thing that caught my attention in this movie. That is, how childhood trauma affects the decisions of children in the near future or quite early.

In this movie, there's a scene where Chioma is seen telling Odogwu that he was everything she was running away from. She tells him this because she had a runaway father and, since then, believed every Igbo man, just like her father, would do the same.

This shows how Chioma’s decisions on her love life were greatly influenced by her childhood trauma.

There are so many things that caught my attention in this movie, but these few I pointed out resonated the most with me.
This movie is a must watch, let me know your thoughts on the movie in the comments below
